Maintenance Assistant
Full-time 38 hours per week
RSPCA ACT is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our maintenance team.
This position is located at the Animal Shelter in Weston. The successful applicant will be energetic, motivated, have a mature attitude, and an ability to work as part of a small team. Reliability, a friendly manner and knowledge of the importance of hygiene is essential. Experience in commercial cleaning and knowledge of specialized cleaning equipment and products is desirable. You will also be required to assist the maintenance officer with day-to-day maintenance of the shelter. If you have general maintenance and handyman skills, and are physically fit, this will also be an advantage. A current ACT driver’s license is essential. References will be required.
This position will include weekend work. Additional hours and duties at peak times such as events may be required. This role will suit an entry level person or someone seeking a career in site maintenance and business support systems.
Remuneration is in line with the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award, Level 1.

Full-Time Behavioural Dog Trainer – 2 positions
38 hours per week including weekends
Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award 2010
The RSPCA ACT currently has two vacant positions in our behavioural training team for highly motivated and experienced trainers. Formal accreditation from the Delta Society or equivalent would be an advantage and on-the-job training is provided.
In this position you will not only be assessing the behavioural needs of shelter dogs and training them, but you will also be required to spend one day per week providing training as part of the Life Skills Training school.
This position will include weekend work. Possible additional hours and duties at peak times such as events may be required.
Remuneration is in line with the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award, Level 1-4 and will depend on experience.

BEHAVIOURAL DOG TRAINERS
RSPCA ACT is committed to offering the highest possible quality dog training to residents of the ACT and surrounds. RSPCA ACT Life Skills Pet Dog Training School is seeking suitable applicants for the position of casual behavioural dog trainers. The school focuses on teaching pet dog manners, ranging from basic to advanced skills, and managing and preventing common behaviour problems.
RSPCA ACT is looking for suitable applicants to instruct classes and give lectures. Recognised industry qualifications are preferable, but you must demonstrate knowledge of dog behaviour and have experience in training dogs using positive motivation training techniques. Applicants must be available to take two (2) or more classes on Saturday or Sunday, and if possible a weeknight class.
