Dog of the Week – Benji

Meet Benji, a typical Kelpie with the word 'muster' running through his bones. We can already picture Benji living a great life as a companion for a retired farmer or perhaps as a 'project dog' for an agility trainer.

This enthusiastic boy is always up for playtime, and his energy seems boundless. If you’re looking for a companion to keep up with your active lifestyle, Benji is your guy! He requires an active owner who can match his energy with lots of exercise and playtime.

He has previously lived with another male Kelpie but would be best suited to a home as the only dog initially, until he settles in comfortably. Benji LOVES his food, so is very responsive to rewards-based training, which will greatly assist in general housetraining and of course a full repertoire tricks down the line.

Benji has incredible potential, we just need to make the right match! If you think this could be you, come down to the RSPCA ACT shelter and meet Benji today!

Cat of the Week – Kessie

Introducing Kessie, a delightful feline whose journey to her true self has been nothing short of remarkable. Since her arrival, Kessie has made tremendous strides, blossoming into a unique and lovable companion.

While she still has some progress ahead, Kessie's potential shines brightly, waiting to be fully realized in the right environment. With her sensitive nature, Kessie thrives in a calm and understanding atmosphere, making her perfect for a home with other cats.

A cat-experienced home would be ideal for Kessie, as she can still exhibit some hesitancy with new people and doesn't like to be pushed to show affection. Once she is comfortable, she's extremely affectionate, though not yet a lap cat, and loves food, being most affectionate around mealtimes.

With patience, love, and a nurturing environment, Kessie promises to continue her journey towards becoming the cherished companion she's meant to be, bringing warmth and joy to the hearts of those who welcome her into their lives. Come down to the shelter and meet her today!
