Million Paws Walk: Walk This May Starts Friday!

The countdown is on and we’re only days away. This Friday marks the start of Million Paws Walk: Walk this May! We hope that dogs around Canberra are fluffing their coats while the humans are putting on their active wear to grab the lead and practice their socially distant walks for a good cause. RSPCA ACT CEO Michelle Robertson looks forward to seeing Canberrans getting behind this virtual event throughout the month of May. “Like so many other pet owners, I have derived much comfort from my pooches over the recent challenging months. Unfortunately, not every animal in the ACT receives the care

RSPCA launches Million Paws Walk: Walk This Way

In response to COVID-19, RSPCA will no longer be able to hold our most successful public event, The Million Paws Walk, on Sunday 17 May. RSPCA teams around the country have put heads together to find an alternative way for us to still celebrate our mutual love for pooches this May. After all, it is a favourite day of the year and so very important for animal welfare! This year’s event has evolved into Million Paws Walk: Walk This May. Participants are encouraged to don their workout gear for the month of May, grab the leash and fundraise while walking with purpose in their own backyards (or

You’ll find us down at the beautiful Patrick White Laws in front of the National Library of Australia from 9am, with the official walk starting at 11am. In addition to the walk, there will be plenty of retails stalls with merchandise and poochy treats, food vendors for the humans, music and dog

Dog Lovers Unite! RSPCA ACT to Attempt 3rd Guinness World Record at Million Paws Walk 2018!

This year we’re attempting to break another Guinness World Record by having the largest gathering of people dressed as dogs! That’s right! This time it’s not just all about the dogs; it's also about those that love dogs and of course, the willingness to dress up like one! The current record is set at 439 people and is held by an organisation in the United Kingdom. With Canberra’s help, we’re confident we can beat the Brits! Interested participants just need to register before the 30th April to join in on the record. On the day you will need to wear: All participants must be dressed in a full

Away to the window I flew like a
