Being an RSPCA ACT Foster Carer:
Foster care is a great alternative for pets awaiting adoption when shelter life is too stressful. The animal shelter provides a half way home for hundreds of animals at any given time, but as you can imagine for some who are babies or not able to cope with the noise and scariness, waiting for adoption in the home of a foster carer is just what they need.
Is Foster Care for You?
- Do you love animals yet can’t commit to a pet for life right now?
- Would you like to volunteer but are not in a position to commit to a regular volunteer role at the shelter?
- Do believe all animals deserve a second chance?
- Are you interested in providing a loving, temporary home to an animal in need?
Fostering could be for you. At RSPCA ACT we rely on foster carers to provide a safe caring home for animals that are too young for de-sexing, sick animals or ones that simple aren’t coping at the shelter. Duration varies from a few weeks to many months and we will work to select animals that are suitable for your work/ life/ home situation.
We are often in need of dedicated, loving and patient homes for dogs and puppies, cats and kittens!
