Give to get them home

Give to Get Them Home

Give to Get Them Home is an exciting digital ‘telethon’ style fundraiser, supported by the community. It’s brought to life by our matching donors and corporates who help us double every dollar given (until our target is reached). This year’s event will be held on Thursday 3rd October 2024, on the eve of World Animal Day (4th October 2024).

Becoming a partner will have double the impact.

RSCPA ACT is looking for businesses around Canberra who are interested in supporting animals in need and giving them the second chance they deserve.

For the past four years this campaign has inspired and motivated Canberrans to be a part of our mission to prevent animal cruelty every day. A large facet of this work involves:

  • Rescuing abandoned, abused, and neglected animals and doing everything in our power to give them the chance they need to find a loving home.
  • Reuniting lost pets with their families.
  • Providing education to our community via our Inspectorate team and youth education program on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
  • Keeping animals in their current loving homes through our Project: SAFE program which involves emergency boarding.
  • Our veterinary team administering treatment to low-income members of our community's pets.

How does matching pledges work?

Businesses or individuals pledge a donation amount which is used to match community donations dollar for dollar during our Give to Get Them Home fundraiser. We encourage our community of supporters to donate and have their donations matched (doubled) by the matching individuals and partner businesses on the day.

Why does the RSPCA ACT need this support?

Each year over 2,000 animals come into RSPCA ACT’s care, and we rely on community support for more than 65% of our funding.

In 2023 through our matching partners and community donors we raised an incredible $177,000 during the campaign.
