Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The Maintenance Assistants at RSPCA ACT plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. This position involves performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs and upkeep, and supporting the overall team to provide a safe and functional environment for our staff, volunteers, and animals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of events and activities.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of maintenance tools and supplies.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role.
- Basic knowledge of handyman techniques including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
