Mike arrived at our shelter with his left eye being nonfunctional, most likely from a genetic defect. He also had a slightly misaligned jaw.
Our team often grapple with treatment decisions, but ultimately all decisions are made around best quality of life.
Though it was not causing him discomfort, removal would lessen the likelihood of future infections, injuries and other inflictions.
Sadly, we know for sure there will be another animal in need, just like Mike, and possibly in even worse condition, arriving at our Shelter, and then there will be another, and another, and another.
A gift today allows us to be prepared and respond quickly to help those sick, hurt and injured animals who can’t help themselves.
By choosing to give monthly, you’ll ensure we’re always ready to help the next animal like Mike by providing lifesaving care whenever it’s needed.
