As temperatures drop below zero, 212 animals are currently relying on RSPCA ACT for warmth, food, urgent medical care and love.
Some were surrendered or abandoned, others injured or left behind, and many are temporarily in our care while their families get back on their feet. But they all need the same thing: kindness, compassion and a safe place to land.
Animals like:
- Ibis, a tiny kitten found in a rubbish bin, now recovering in foster care
- Pretzel, a big, beautiful puppy healing from eye surgery, waiting for a family
- Merida, affectionate and gentle, heartbreakingly close to spending a full year in our shelter
And this financial year alone, we’ve already cared for more than 265 unwanted puppies, just one part of a growing crisis.
You may have read about Aussie, who needed his leg amputated. Ed, with one of the worst skin conditions we’ve ever seen. Maisie, Zera, Rocky, and Kumo. Each with their own story of survival and strength.
They all had one thing in common, they had nowhere else to go.
But thanks to people like you, they got the care they desperately needed. Last week alone, 60 animals found loving new homes.
Still, the cold keeps coming. And so do the animals.
