This handsome chappy is only 8 months old and still learning about life. He’s got sweet eyes and in his short time at our shelter he’s gradually learning obedience like sitting for treats and enjoy walks with a lead.
Our fear is that he’s grown out of his “adorable puppy” phase and into a slightly bigger pup – or smaller dog, however you’d care to look at it. And it’s easy to look past poor Ares and adopt a tiny pup, when he’s just the same but a tiny bit bigger and older.
Ares and a similar breed dog have recently become best friends at the shelter which is lovely to see. While Ares can be picky with which dogs he does and doesn’t like, we have delightful proof that with some other dogs, he’s terrific!
Meet our handsome boy in one of our meet-and-greet yards to see if he’s a match for you and your family. He will be delighted.

Our little Miss Poppy is in-between stages, just like Ares, but not with age. She’s in-between with her behaviour and demeanor.
You see, technically she’s what we call a Project Cat; one who is shy and will take a little time and patience before she blossoms in your home. But as our Cattery lead says, “Miss Poppy is ONLY JUST a project cat.”
This means she’s come a long way. She’ll sit at the edge of her condo for food and allow you to pat her while she eats. If she can make this kind of progress from terrified cat to accepting pats in a shelter, she will surely take big steps in a calm, settled home.
Come visit Miss Poppy and perhaps you can give her the wonderful life she deserves?
