Education & Community Outreach Assistant

Part-time - 25hours per week

Show your passion for animal welfare by helping RSPCA ACT educate & collaborate with our community!

This position is centered on our education programs, working with children, corporate and local community groups, to deliver core RSPCA animal welfare messages in line with RSPCA ACT's mission and values.  These include school holiday programs, AWARE, Incursions, community visits and shelter education visits.

RSPCA ACT continues to work very hard on ensuring our community has access to these messages to foster a positive and bright future for animals within the ACT. 

Our aim is to expand these programs to our broader community, and corporate partners as well, with the help of our Education & Community Outreach Assistant.  

 To be a strong contender for this position you will need: 

  • A Cert IV in Training and Assessment or similar qualification
  • At least 2 years in a similar role
  • A passion for animal welfare and education
  • Have exemplary communication skills for a variety of school children, community groups, individuals, and corporate stakeholders
  • Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office and online video programs such as Zoom or MS Teams
  • A current Working with Vulnerable People registration
  • A current valid driving licence
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Honesty, reliability and willingness to take instruction
  • Mental and physical fitness. It can be demanding to work in an animal shelter!

 Salary and conditions are in line with the Clerks – Private Sector Award 2010, Level 4 depending on experience.
